Auspicious opening of Sri Sri Kali Mata Mandir at Comilla Devidwar (centenary old temple).

The more than hundred year old Universal Sri Sri Kalimata Mandir has been auspiciously inaugurated in Kuruin village of Mohanpur Union of Debidwar Upazila of Comilla. Last Sunday, April 23, 10 Baisakh afternoon, a grand ceremony was officially inaugurated.

It is known that the temple established by the heavenly sage Vasant Kumari Devi in 1912 AD was in a dilapidated condition. When the matter came to the attention of prominent businessman and social worker Babu Kalipad Majumdar, a member of Comilla North District Awami League and a humanitarian leader of the Central Committee of Bangladesh Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Unity Parishad, he took responsibility for rebuilding the temple.

Chairman of Mohanpur Union, Haji Md. Moynal Hossain, was present as the chief guest in the event, Samajsevak Babu Kalipad Majumdar, the humanitarian leader of the central committee of Bangladesh Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Oikya Parishad. Former Director General of Bangladesh Water Development Board Md. Momin Sarkar, former GS Samsul Haque Master of Debidwar Government College, Member of Debidwar Upazila Awami Log Jiban Chandra Das, Labor Affairs Secretary Babu Sujit Podhar, Agriculture and Cooperative Affairs Secretary Sheikh Farooq, members were present as special guests. Md. Humayun Kabir, Abdullahpur Haji Amir High School President Eng. Zakir Hossain, Allahabad Union Awami League General Secretary Md. Aktaruzzaman Swapan, Rajamehar High School Principal Md. Momen etc.

Chief guest Babu Kalipad Majumder said in his speech, I am happy to rebuild this universal Sri Sri Kalimata temple which is more than hundred years old. He said, I want to devote myself to any social activities in the area. He requested everyone's cooperation for this purpose and also assured that he will stand by everyone's cooperation in any social activities in the future.

It is to be noted that Comilla North District Awami League leader Babu Kalipad Majumder has already built about ten temples in the name of his father and mother with his own funds and has been selflessly supporting many Muslim brothers and sisters by providing clothes and various gifts on two Eids.
