 Maldip Awami League celebrated this most horrible and painful day in the country's history with due dignity like every year.

 A discussion and prayer ceremony was held at a local restaurant.

On August 21, 2004, the worst grenade attack in history was carried out at the Awami League's anti-terror rally on Bangabandhu Avenue. And in this attack, 24 Awami League leaders and activists were killed and more than 500 leaders and activists of the party including the then opposition leader Sheikh Hasina were injured that day. Maldives Awami League organized a discussion meeting and a prayer meeting for the victims of that terrible grenade attack.

Honorable president of Maldives Awami League, distinguished businessman and social worker Alhaj Dulal Madbar was present as the chief guest in the event organized by Mizanur Rahman Anis, organizing secretary of the organization, Md Dulal, general secretary of Maldives Awami League and chairman of VO Construction Pvt. Ltd. was present as special guest. Hossain, NB Mani Tanspar (Maldives) Local Director Mr. Hannan Khan Kabir was present as special guest.

  The chief guest said that we strongly condemned the barbaric grenade attack in history on 21 August.

 On that day, they threw grenades to kill the beloved leader, the daughter of the father of the nation, Bangabandhu, the honorable Prime Minister. But God forbid, may God still keep the honorable Prime Minister alive.
