Naogaon teacher hacked and injured, five arrested including two women

A teacher of a madrasa named Mozaffar Hossain (45) has been hacked to death with a Ramada due to a family dispute in Manda upazila of Naogaon district.
The incident took place at Pakuria village in Varshon union of the upazila around 9am on Monday. He was rescued and taken to the Upazila Health Complex. He was later referred to Ramek Hospital as his condition was critical.
The injured were identified as Mozaffar Hossain, 45, son of late Hazratullah Mollah of Pakuria village in the upazila. He is working as an assistant teacher in Kalikapur Alim Madrasa.
Meanwhile, teacher Mozaffar Hossain was hacked to death and five others, including two women, were arrested and handed over to the police. The detainees are Moslem Uddin (50), his wife Alta Bibi (48), sons Arif Hossain (26) and Sharif Hossain (24) and daughter Sumi Akter (20).
Idris Ali, a relative of teacher Mozaffar Hossain, said that teacher Mozaffar Hossain was working at home with some construction workers. At that time, 10-12 people led by neighbor Moslem Uddin attacked him with Ramda, iron rods, spears and other local weapons. The assailants stabbed him and stabbed him with a spear.
Idris Ali added that Sakhina Bibi, wife of teacher Mozaffar Hossain, had recently died. Son Sajib studied in Rajshahi. He lived at home with his youngest daughter Tumpa. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a crowd of mourners.
Eyewitness Amjad Hossain said that on Monday morning, the teacher Mozaffar Hossain was attacked by the people of the opposition. During this time his house was vandalized and looted. The assailants later chased Abdus Sobhan's house in the village and detained the five while they were fleeing.
Manda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahinur Rahman said five people were rescued from the spot and taken into custody. Legal action will be taken in the incident.
