Meeting of the High Commissioner with the Minister of Education of Maldives.

 High Commissioner Rear Admiral SM Abul Kalam Azad had a courtesy meeting with Dr. Ibrahim Hasan, Minister of Higher Education, Maldives at his Ministry on 14 June. Two high-ranking officials of the ministry were also present during the meeting.

During the meeting, the Maldivian Education Minister highlighted the recent development and cooperation between the Government of Bangladesh and the Maldives.

 He also mentioned the recent official visits of the heads of government of the two friendly countries. He highly appreciated the immense role of expatriate Bangladeshis in the development of Maldives.

He also emphasized on further strengthening the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries and setting up of technical and vocational training centers, agricultural farms and training institutes through Bangladeshi entrepreneurs with financial support from Maldives.

 The High Commissioner assured that the Government of Bangladesh would sympathetically consider any such request from the Maldives.

He pledged to work tirelessly to enhance cooperation between the two countries.

 Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan, the third secretary of the High Commission was also present at the time.
