Body of 1 woman recovered from jute field in Faridpur

Bhanga police have recovered the body of a woman from Bhanga in Faridpur. She is thought to have been killed after being raped.
The body was recovered from a jute field in Raipara Sadardi village of the upazila on Wednesday (June 6) evening.
The deceased was identified as Nupur, 28. She is the wife of Kartik Roy of Raipara Sadardi village. He was a field worker for a local NGO.
According to the locals, the children of the village were playing football on the field on Wednesday afternoon. The football went to a jute field next door. At that time the children went to the jute field to look for the ball. They found a corpse there. After receiving the news, the police of Bhanga police station came and rescued the body.
According to family sources, Nupur left home for the office on Tuesday morning. The family members searched for him as he did not return home even though the evening had passed. The family kept a general diary at Bhanga police station at night without finding it. The next afternoon, the family members got the news that Nupur's body was lying in a nearby jute field.
Bhanga Thana Circle (Additional Superintendent of Police) Fahima Quader Chowdhury told reporters that her family lodged a GD with the Bhanga Thana regarding the disappearance of Nupur on Tuesday night. Initially, it is believed that Nupur was killed after being raped. Details will be known at the end of the investigation.
