15 injured, houses vandalized and looted in Faridpur's Saltha

At least 15 people were injured, houses vandalized and looted in Faridpur's Saltha. Many of the injured have been admitted to different hospitals.
The incident took place at Senhati village in Atghar union of the upazila on Friday (June 18) morning.
During the clashes, at least 20 houses of one side were attacked and vandalized and looted. Upon receiving the news, the police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
According to local sources, the rift between Kabir Mallick of Senhati village and his rival Dolowar member of the same village had been raging for a long time. Kabir Mallick's elder brother Mohammad Mallick led him as he was in jail.
Due to this dispute, a meeting was held with the party on Thursday night, June 15, at the house of local village Matubbar Fagu Matubbar, a supporter of Delwar. Upon receiving the news, the police went to the spot and arrested a man named Fagu Matubbar and Farid. The next day, on Thursday, Fagu Matubbar was released on bail. Abdul Matubbar Gangra, a supporter of Kabir Mallick, beat up Afshar, son of Wazed of Gobindpur village, a supporter of Delwar member, when the two sides met at Gourdia Bazaar in the evening. The area remained tense throughout the night but no clashes were reported due to police patrols. On Friday morning, supporters of the Delwar member launched a surprise attack on Kabir's supporters.
Fifteen people were injured, and 20 homes were vandalized and looted, leaving Delwar supporters dead.
Although the poet's supporters clashed for a while at first, they left the field indirectly due to lack of people in their group. They took this opportunity to launch a unilateral attack.
Upon receiving the news, the police of Saltha police station went to the spot and brought the situation under control. At least 15 people from both groups were injured in the clashes between the protesters and the bricks. The injured have been admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital and Nagarkanda Upazila Health Center.
