Joypurhat District DB arrests 6 brokers involved in illegal kidney buying and selling cycle

A vigilante team has arrested six brokers from different parts of the district.

The arrested have been identified as Saharul, 38, son of late Siraj of Kalai Thal area, Farhad Hossain Chapal, 31, son of Faridul Islam of Ulipur village and Mosharraf Hossain, 54, son of late Mofiz Uddin of Jaipur Bahuti village. Shahrul Islam (35), son of Jahan Alam of Verendi village, Mokarram (58), son of late Mubarak of Bahuti village, Jaipur, Saidul Fakir (85), son of late Bachir Uddin Fakir of Durgapur village, and presently Resident Saddam Hussein (40).

Musharraf Hossain sold their kidneys in 2009, Shahrul Islam in 2009, Mokarram in 2007, Saidul Fakir in 2016 and Farhad Hossain Chappal, Saddam and Shahrul went to India to sell their kidneys but managed to escape.

The said brokers lure the helpless people of the area and send them to Kawshar and Sattar in Dhaka.

Speaking at a press conference at Joypurhat Police Line meeting room at 1.30 pm on Saturday, Superintendent of Police Masum Ahmed Bhuiyan said that for a long time in the Kalai Thana area of ​​the district, an organized gang of middlemen had been tempting the people to sell their human kidneys.

Victims of fraud then turn out to be pimps and their relatives and innocent poor locals in the area are tempted to sell their kidneys, taking advantage of the opportunity to borrow some money or pay back the interest a few days later as planned and fail to repay. Forced to sell, the organized brokers, through some unscrupulous doctors, physically examined the victims and sent them inside and outside the country to remove their kidneys.

Later, after the treatment, Naam sent them to the country with one to two lakh rupees in their hands, dismembering them for life.

The police superintendent further said that the operation to arrest the members of this gang is continuing and a case is being filed against the arrested persons under the existing law.

The district police, Joypurhat, has stepped up its intelligence activities to identify the ringleaders, based on intelligence information, which has led to the disappearance of several people from the Kalai Thana area in recent times and is currently in Dubai and India through Kawshar and Sattar, the main brokers of the Kalai area. .

Recently, in Kalai Thana area as well as in Panchbibi Thana area, intelligence information has been found that it is tempting the helpless poor people to sell kidneys. A vigilante team from DB, Joypurhat conducted a search operation in Kalai Thana area to arrest the Kidney Dalal Chakra.
