A robber with foreign weapons was arrested at Badalgachhi in Naogaon

RAB-5 Joypurhat has arrested an armed robber with a foreign pistol and one shooter gun.

According to a press release from Joypurhat Camp, a joint operation team of RAB-5, Rajshahi, on the basis of intelligence information at around 6 pm on May 08, from the abandoned tin fence house of Gangaram Urao, a resident of Uttar Mirzapur village under Badalgachhi police station in Naogaon district Nazmus Shakib and Assistant Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Roy and CPC-3 (Joypurhat) Company Deputy Commanders led by Assistant Superintendent of Police Md. Masud Rana and Assistant Superintendent of Police Md. One person was arrested with 01 magazine, 04 rounds of ammunition, 01 mobile set, 01 SIM card and Rs. 900 / - in cash.

The arrested accused is identified as Mohammad Abdul Hannan, 45, son of Nur Mohammad of Dakshin Basudebpur village (Jilapi Patti) in Hakimpur upazila of Dinajpur district.

Initial interrogation revealed that Abdul Hannan was an arms dealer. He confessed to the witnesses that the seized illegal firearms were illegally collected from an unknown place and kept in his custody for the purpose of robbery. He has been carrying out robberies in Naogaon area including buying and selling arms for a long time.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Badalgachhi Police Station Atiqul Islam said a case is being filed with Badalgachhi Police Station.
