A human chain was held in Faridpur to demand the arrears of the retired employees of the sugar mill

Faridpur Sugar Mill is the largest heavy industry in South Bengal located at Madhukhali in Faridpur. A human chain and protest procession of retired workers and officers has been organized by the Retired Workers and Employees Welfare Association of this sugar mill to demand arrears.
The human chain and demonstration procession was held at Madhukhali Railgate area of Dhaka-Khulna highway of the upazila at 10 am on Sunday (April 10).
Speaking in the human chain, the former agricultural officer of Faridpur Sugar Mills. Nazrul Islam, a former labor leader. Zahurul Haque, Abul Bashar Badshah, Md. Siddiqui Ali Khan, Md. Rezaul Haque, Md. Feroz Mia and Md. Rafiquddin Sheikh and others.
At that time, the speakers mentioned in their speech that the Faridpur Sugar Mill owes about Tk.
The speakers claimed that the arrears of the retired workers and officers of Faridpur Sugar Mill are about Tk 25/30 crore for 7/8 years.
The speakers further said that even after retiring for 6/7 years, they are not getting the money due. 300 families are living inhumane life due to non-receipt of arrears. Our desperate appeal to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the mother of humanity, took necessary steps to protect the 300 retired families of Faridpur Sugar Mill.
Retired workers in the human chain tied shrouds on their heads and held plates in their hands, trying to attract attention through Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's reporters. The speakers mentioned that due to lack of money in Ramadan, it is impossible to fast for half a day and observe Eid after Ramadan. The protest procession after the human chain encircled the Dhaka-Khulna highway of the municipality and ended with a short rally at the T&T junction.
Ali Akbar Sheikh, President of Faridpur Sugar Mill Retired Workers and Employees Welfare Association presided over the human chain and protest procession.
