Husband arrested in Naogaon for cutting wife's hair for dowry

The accused in the case of cutting his wife's hair without getting dowry money in Raninagar of Naogaon district has been arrested from Barisal Bazar of Chandgaon in Chittagong.

The arrested accused Firoz Hossain (28) is the son of Rezaul Islam of Madhupur village in Raninagar upazila.

The housewife filed a case with the Women and Child Abuse Suppression Tribunal on February 22. Later, a case was registered at Raninagar police station on March 13 on the direction of the court.

Referring to the case, the OC said that Feroze got married on January 23, 2015. At that time, he gave one lakh rupees to his father-in-law Firoz for business. A few days later, Feroze pressured him to pay another one lakh rupees. When he refused to pay, Feroze started torturing his wife along with his family members.

"On February 22, when the wife had an argument with Feroze, the family members got together and started torturing her. At one stage, when he lost consciousness, Firoz Hossain and others cut his hair with scissors. ”

Raninagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) said that everyone including the main accused had been absconding since the incident. After receiving a tip-off, Raninagar police conducted a raid on Tuesday night and arrested Feroze with the help of Chandgaon police in Chittagong.

He was sent to court on Wednesday; He said the operation to arrest the other accused in the case was continuing.
