Three warehouse houses made of ashes burnt in Naogaon

Three cotton warehouses have caught fire in Manda of Naogaon district. A unit at the Manda Fire Service Station put out the fire in a four-hour effort. The fire broke out in Barapai area near Upazila Sadar around 10pm on Friday.


Two warehouses of Aynal Haque and one warehouse of Mubarak Hossain were burnt in the fire. The affected traders claim that they have lost at least 3 million rupees.


According to the locals, a fire broke out in a fake cotton warehouse at around 10 pm on Friday. At the moment it spread to the whole area. Upon receiving the news, a unit of Manda Fire Service Station tried to control the fire till 1 am. However, they could not say anything about how the fire started there.


Morsheda Khatun, wife of the aggrieved cotton trader Aynal Haque, said the factory was closed last Thursday afternoon at the wages of the workers. On Friday afternoon, he himself visited the factory and saw that everything was fine. You can find out about the fire on your mobile phone around 10 pm.


He further said that at least 40 tons of jute including 250 manas of cotton of different prices in his warehouse were burnt in the fire.

The affected traders claim that the cotton mills are closed on Friday due to the weekly holiday. Due to this the main Swiss of the factory was closed. Even then, they could not say anything about how the warehouse caught fire


However, several locals, who did not want to be named, said the area was deserted at night after the factory closed. On this occasion, drug addicts hang out there. They expressed doubts whether the drug addicts had caused any accident.


Shafiur Rahman, in-charge leader of Manda Fire Service Station, said the electrical transformer in the factory exploded before the fire broke out. It is initially thought that this may have started a fire in the warehouse. It is estimated that more than eight lakh rupees may have been lost in the fire.
