A child named Safwan drowned in a pond in Fatikchhari

A child named Muhang Safwan (02) drowned in a pond in South Rangamatia of Fatikchhari Municipality.

 The incident took place at Raju Sultan's house in Ward No. 4 of the municipality today (February 11) around 4:30 pm. The matter has been confirmed by local ward councilor Sultan Rafiqul Islam.

It is learned that Safwan was playing inside the house before the incident. Her parents were doing family work. Immediately after their eyes went to the pond behind the house. Safwan could not be seen in the room and at one stage of the search, his frozen body was seen floating in the pond. After rescuing the child and taking him to the local medical center, the doctor on duty declared him dead.

The deceased was identified as Muhang Safwan, younger son of Md. Habibul Islam, a businessman of Raju Sultan house in South Rangamati.

The news of his tragic death cast a shadow of mourning over the area.
