National Mourning Day celebrated in Rupganj

International Mother Language Day and National Mourning Day were observed on Monday 21st February at the initiative of social organizations including Rupganj Upazila Administration, Upazila Parishad, Awami League, Rupganj Upazila Press Club of Narayanganj. The program included morning ferry, holding of black badge, hoisting of national flag at half-mast and black flag, laying of wreaths at Shaheed Minar and portrait of Bangabandhu, physical exercise of students, exhibition, essay competition, symposium and cultural program.

Rupganj Upazila Executive Officer Shah Nusrat Jahan presided over the rally held at Rupganj Upazila Auditorium. Textile and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi Bir Pratik, Rupganj Upazila Chairman Alhaj Md. Shahjahan Bhuiyan, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (VM) Atiqul Islam, Tarabo Municipality Mayor Hasina Gazi, Upazila Vice Chairman Syeda Ferdousi Alam Neela, Muktijoddha Sangsad Dep. Muktijoddha Amanullah Aman, Murapara UP Chairman Alhaj Tofail Ahmed Almach, Awami League leader Mashiur Rahman Tarek, Obaidul Majid Jewel, Abdul Mannan Munshi, Advocate Irene Akter Ruby, Rupganj Upazila Press Club President M.A. .

Later, certificates and prizes were handed over to the winners of the essay competition.
