Cabinet approves draft law to establish Naogaon University

The cabinet has approved the draft law for establishing a university in Naogaon. Thakurgaon University has also been approved.
In a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday, February 26, the draft of 'Bangabandhu Public University-Naogaon Act, 2022' and 'Thakurgaon University Act, 2022' was approved in principle.
Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam said that the new law is being followed following the existing law for other universities.
The Prime Minister promised to establish a full-fledged public university in Naogaon district. This law was brought in this context. There have been 56 sections. Like other laws.
Like all other universities, the President will be the Chancellor of the University, appointing a renowned academician as Vice-Chancellor for a term of four years. There will be two vice-chancellors and one treasurer. They will take care of it. ”
Besides, like other universities, there will be a fund, there will be a registrar's office. According to the draft law, the university will be able to make rules and regulations for conducting activities and curriculum.
Khandaker Anwarul Islam said that these issues will be included in the Thakurgaon University Act as well. This law is the same, the same thing. "
However, it is not yet known where the university will be located in Naogaon.
