1 killed, 5 injured in road accident in Khagrachhari

A covered van driver named Saiful Islam (40) was killed in a head-on collision between a Shanti Paribahan and a freight cover van at Hafchhari Jorkhamba area of ​​Guimara upazila in Khagrachhari. The accident took place at around 9:30 am on Saturday when a Khagrachhari-bound covered van collided head-on with a Shanti Paribahan (Dhaka Metro-B-14-1473) leaving Khagrachhari. The driver of the covered van was killed on the spot. The deceased was identified as Saiful Islam, son of Joynal Abedin of Putakhali village under Bagerhat Moralganj police station. Five others, including two BGB members, were injured in the incident.

The officer-in-charge of the Guimaras police station confirmed the incident and said that the covered van collided head-on with the peace transport. The driver of the covered van was seriously injured and was rushed to Manikchhari Hospital. The doctor on duty declared him dead. He also said that the case is being prepared at the police station.
