The body of a young man was recovered from the verandah of a mosque in Rupganj

6 Police recovered the body of a young man named Sharif Mia (22) from the verandah of Baitul Al Jame Mosque in Birobo Chowdhurypara of Kanchan Municipality in Rupganj Upazila of Narayanganj on Friday. He is the son of Abdul Halim Miah of Birabo Khalpar village.

Sharif Mia's elder sister Jasmine Akhter said that Sharif Mia left the house on Thursday morning, September 16, saying that she was going to her sister's house in Chowdhurypara, Kanchan. Besides, the locals said that he was addicted to various gambling games. Fazlul Haque, in-charge of the Bholabo police outpost in Rupganj, said the miscreants were believed to have killed Sharif Mia by choking him on the head and suffocating him due to previous hostilities.

His body was recovered and sent to Narayanganj morgue. A murder case is being prepared at Rupganj police station in this regard.
