District Representative Naogaon
A schoolgirl has been abducted in Dhamairhat in Naogaon district. The incident took place in Kalupara village of Dhamairhat union of the upazila.
Preparations are underway to file a case in this regard.
According to sources, the 14-year-old schoolgirl of a traditional Hindu village in Kalupara village left her house at around 8 pm on Friday, September 11 to respond to the call of nature. After a long time, the girl did not return home and the family members started looking for her.
At one stage, the neighbor came to know that his daughter was forcibly taken away by 3/4 people including Mehedi Hasan (28), son of Abu Bakkar of Chhota Shibpur village in the same area. The matter went to local UP member Golam Mostafa and former UP member Haider Ali, among others, who assured the kidnapper's father Abu Bakkar that they would hand over the girl to their family.
But despite repeated assurances, the teenager was not returned.
The girl's mother complained that Mehedi Hasan, a lustful and greedy woman, had two wives in her house. He used to show and tease his daughter in various ways. The girl is an eighth grade student of a local Jagdal tribal school and college.
Officer-in-charge of Dhamairhat Police Station Mohammad Abdul Momin said no one has lodged a complaint in this regard yet. If a complaint is received, the matter will be investigated and necessary legal action will be taken.
