A protest procession of Chhatra Dal was held in Khagrachhari demanding the release of the central leaders

 The district Chhatra Dal has staged a protest rally in Khagrachhari to protest the arrest of all the leaders, including Central Organizing Secretary Saif Mahmud Jewel and Co-Organizing Secretary Mashiur Rahman Rony.

 Today (August 29) a protest rally was held in front of the party office in Taikhagarhchhari at 11 am on Sunday in the face of police obstruction in the peaceful program of the district Chhatra Dal.

 Speaking at the protest rally, district Chhatra Dal president Shahed Hossain Sumon said, "This government is depriving the nation of merit by keeping all the educational institutions of the country closed on the pretext of corona."

 The illegal government is arresting popular student leaders as part of the crackdown on dissent. He demanded immediate and unconditional release of the central leaders. Otherwise, all student organizations in Bangladesh will form a tough movement, he warned.

 Earlier, a protest procession of Chhatra Dal tried to march towards Shapla Chattar from the BNP party office but was stopped by the police.

 District Chhatra Dal president Shahed Hossain Sumon presided over the function. District Chhatra Dal senior vice-president Nurshad Hossain Bappi, vice-president Ujjal Dey, co-organizer Naimul Islam and responsible leaders of different upazilas were present at the occasion.
