Young Population One of the Country’s Most Important Human Resources: Education Minister

A fresher reception programme was organized at Jagannath University (JnU) by the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, Jagannath University unit, to welcome the newly admitted students of the 21st batch of the 2025–2026 academic session.

The programme was held on Wednesday (September 16) at the field adjacent to the Science Building of the university, where around 2,100 registered newly admitted students were welcomed.

Addressing the programme as the chief guest, Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Haque Milan said that the young generation of the country is the future of Bangladesh. He said newly admitted students should set clear goals about their future from now on and properly utilize their merit, skills and knowledge. University education should not be limited to mastering academic subjects; rather, it should be aligned with practical skill development, innovation and employment.

He said that in the present world, the importance of technical education, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, nanotechnology and modern technology-based skills is increasing gradually. Effective connections should be established between industries and educational institutions so that students can prepare for their education and careers simultaneously.

The Education Minister further said that Bangladesh’s large young population is one of the country’s most important human resources. If these talented young people can be developed through proper education and skills, they will play an important role in the country’s socioeconomic development while also demonstrating their capabilities at the global level.

Addressing the newly admitted students, he said that they themselves have to build their own future. Through discipline, patriotism, merit and hard work, they must prepare themselves as excellent human resources. At the same time, they should develop multidimensional skills by actively participating in sports, debates, cultural activities and other extracurricular activities.

He said that it is essential to bring qualitative and timely changes to the education system. Alongside expanding technology-based and skill-oriented education from primary to higher education, students should be trained in artificial intelligence (AI) and modern technologies.

Calling upon the newly admitted students, the Education Minister said that today’s students will lead Bangladesh tomorrow. Therefore, they must start preparing from now to build a prosperous, skilled and developed Bangladesh by properly utilizing their abilities and talents.
