Comilla Devidwar Md Masud Rana was elected CIP in Maldives

Md. Masood Rana, a prominent Maldivian businessman and philanthropist, hailing from Bhani (Barat) village of Comilla Devidwar Bhani Union, has been elected CIP for 2023 in the category of non-resident Bangladeshi who remits the most foreign exchange through legal channels to Bangladesh. A total of 70 expatriate Bangladeshis have been selected as Commercially Important Persons (CIP-NRB) by the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment in recognition of their significant contribution to the country's economy and continued economic development. Among them is Md. Masood Rana from Maldives.

This award is given in total three categories every year. The categories are- a) Non-Resident Bangladeshis Direct Investors in Industries in Bangladesh, b) Non-Resident Bangladeshis Remitting Maximum Foreign Exchange in Bangladesh through Legitimate Channels and c) Non-Resident Bangladeshis Importers of Bangladeshi Products Abroad One of the categories of Non-Resident Direct Investors in Bangladesh Industries in CIP-NRB Awards-2018 A total of 70 people have been awarded this status, including 59 people in the category of non-resident Bangladeshis who send the most foreign exchange through the channel, 10 people in the category of non-resident Bangladeshis who import Bangladeshi products abroad. CIPs will be awarded and CIP cards will be given to the selected CIPs at the National Expatriate Day celebration on December 30. Newly-elected CIP Md. Masud Rana was spoken to on motophone. Bangladesh High Commissioner Rear Admiral SM Abul Kalam, Council of Mission (Labour) Sohail Parvez, including the embassy officials and employees and all expatriate Bangladeshi citizens, he has thanked a lot. Note, from Maldives (for the first time) to be a partner in the development of the country.
Md. Masood Rana, the favorite mouthpiece of the Maldivian diaspora, has been nominated by CIP for 2023 as the highest remitter of foreign exchange through legal channels to Bangladesh.
