After 52 years of independence in Pirganj, the preservation work of martyred intellectual Dr. Sujauddin's tomb has started.

After 52 years of independence, the preservation work of martyr intellectual Dr. Sujauddin and his elder brother Mozaffar Hossain has started in Pirganj of Thakurgaon. This conservation work was inaugurated under the supervision of upazila administration in Birhali village on Saturday afternoon. At that time Upazila Chairman Akhtarul Islam, Upazila Executive Officer Shahriar Nazir, Municipal Mayor Birmuktijoddha Ikramul Haque, Pirganj Government College Principal and son of Martyr Dr. Sujauddin Badrul Huda, Upazila Muktijoddha Command Former Commander Bir Muktijoddha Akhtar Hossain, Former Assistant Commander Bir Muktijoddha Hafizur Rahman, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Jahandir Hossain, Peerganj Press Club President Joynal Abedin Babul, General Secretary Nasret Khoda Rana, Muktijoddha Sangsad Child Command Central Committee Member Noornabi Chanchal, Upazila Branch Acting President Abu Farak Ershadul Bar Dollar, Journalist Dulal Sarkar, Aminur Rahman Hriday, Faidul Islam, Local dignitaries including Latifur Rahman were present.

It should be noted that on April 17, 1971, 7 people including these two martyrs were brutally martyred by the Pakistani invaders. A few years ago, among them, the tomb of martyr Professor Golam Mustafa was preserved, but since then, the rest of the martyrs' tombs were left unprotected.
