A large amount of illegal fakes were seized and destroyed in the joint operation of the Bhangay administration

In a joint operation by the administration in Bhanga of Faridpur, a large quantity of China double nets and current nets were seized and later burnt in front of the public.

On Friday morning, Upazila Fisheries Office and Bhanga Thana Police conducted a joint operation to arrest illegal fishing nets banned in several bills including Nawapara Bill, Nurpur Bill, Hasamdia Bill, Tujarpur Bill.

In this, 2000 meters of China double net and 500 meters of current net were seized and later they were set on fire in front of the public and destroyed.

The estimated market value of the nets is around Rs 3 lakh.

Upazila Executive Officer Md. Azim Uddin, Upazila Fisheries Officer Debala Chakraborty, Bhanga Thana policemen, Fisheries Office staff and many others were present.

Bhanga Upazila Fisheries Officer Debala Chakraborty led the joint operation to arrest the banned China Dwari and current nets to protect native species of fish and preserve the balance of biodiversity. Bhanga Thana Police, Fishery Office Find Assistant Md. Badal Khan, Ishtiaq Ahmed Antar, local conscious people etc.

Bhanga Upazila Fisheries Officer Debala Chakraborty said that based on secret information, a joint operation was conducted in several areas of the upazila with Bhanga Thana Police Force, Upazila Fisheries Office staff.

From 7:00 am to 12:00 pm, Bhanga Upazila Fisheries Office and Bhanga Thana Police seized 2000 meters of Chinese double net and 500 meters of current net in a joint operation. Later, in the presence of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer, the mobile court was burnt and destroyed. Before this, at 5 am, Matsya Arat, Maligram Bazar, Kaulibera Bazar, Munsibari Kumpar Bazar and Nawapara Bazar of Bhanga Upazila were visited.

This campaign will continue in the public interest to protect native species of fish and biodiversity.

The fisheries officer also said,

Bhanga Upazila Fisheries Office is working to implement the zero tolerance policy against illegal nets and China double nets (Department of Fisheries). And he wants everyone's cooperation in implementing it.
