Attack on police 60 bottles of Phencidil recovered in Pirganj, 5 arrested

On Saturday night, the Pirganj Thana Police arrested 5 people along with 60 bottles of Phencidil in the house of Lebu Das in Harsua Jalia Para village of Senagaon Union of Pirganj Upazila. The arrested are Lebu Das, Chandidas, Bhadri, Vikram and Ulchari Bala. A group of police under the leadership of the officer in charge of Pirganj police station Abdul Latif Sheikh conducted the operation. During the police operation Lebu Das' associates attacked the police and tried to rob the arrested accused. SI Sajal Basak and Constable Nazmul Haque were injured. They are currently under treatment at Pirganj Upazila Hospital. Abdul Latif Sheikh, officer-in-charge of Pirganj police station, said that two separate cases have been filed for drugs and assault on the police. The arrested have been sent to Thakurgaon Kot.
