Two persons arrested including accused in child rape case in Pirganj

Using information technology, the Thana police arrested Mostan Ali, the accused in the child rape case and Nirod Chandra Roy, the accused in the check dishonor case, in Pirganj of Thakurgaon. They were arrested from the municipal bus stand and Thumuinya village. Assistant Superintendent of Police Manjurul Alam confirmed the arrest of the main accused in the rape case through a press release at Pirganj police station on Tuesday afternoon. He told reporters that Mostan Ali (50), son of the deceased Pitha Mohammad of Vebra village of the upazila, raped a 12-year-old girl on April 24 by taking her to the mango garden of Shams Raihan Rana of North Nohali village by luring her with sweets and biscuits. In this incident, the child's father filed a case at the police station. Mostan was on the run since then. On Monday night with the help of information technology, police station SI Sadhan Chandra Paur arrested him from the bus stand area of the town. Meanwhile, Nirod, the son of the deceased Jagindra Nath Roy of Thumuinya village, who was sentenced to 6 months in the check dishonor case, was arrested from his house on the same day by police. The arrested were sent to jail on Tuesday afternoon.
Abdul Latif Sheikh, OC of Pirganj Police Station, said that the police had been trying to arrest Mostan, the accused in the child rape case, since the incident. They finally succeeded under the guidance of the Superintendent of Police.
