A person has been sentenced to life imprisonment in the case of raping an eight-year-old child in Naogaon

A court sentenced a man to life imprisonment for raping an eight-year-old child in Naogaon. At the same time, the accused has been fined 50,000 taka and sentenced to 3 months' imprisonment in default of payment.
The rapist's name is Abdus Salam (50). His house is in Dhamirhat upazila of Naogaon district.
August 29, Tuesday at around 11 o'clock Naogaon Women and Child Abuse Prevention Court-2 Judge District and Sessions Judge Mehedi Hasan Talukder gave this verdict.
He was present in the court when the verdict of Abdus Salam, who was sentenced to life imprisonment, was announced.
According to the details of the case, on June 5, 2019, an eight-year-old child of Dhamirhat Upazila was raped by her neighbor Abdus Salam after calling her home to feed her bread and semai on the day of Eid. In this incident, the child's father filed a case in Dhamirhat police station as a plaintiff. The hearing of the case began on July 5, 2022. After taking the testimony of 13 witnesses and arguing the arguments of both sides till June 14 of this year, Naogaon Women and Child Torture Prevention Court-2 Judge District and Sessions Judge Mehedi Hasan Talukder gave the verdict in the case.
Maqbul Hossain, Special Government Counsel of Naogaon Women and Child Torture Prevention Court-2, handled the case for the state. Lawyer Mamunur Rashid handled the case for the accused.
At the same time, this court today sentenced a person named Sumon Hossain (25) to 14 years rigorous imprisonment for abducting a madrasa student (12) in Naogaon Sadar Upazila. At the same time, the court sentenced the accused to a fine of 50,000 taka and 3 months' imprisonment in default of payment. Convicted Sumon Hossain is a resident of Naogaon Sadar Upazila.
Maqbul Hossain, the special counsel appointed by the state in the case, said that on August 13, 2022, Sumon Hossain forcibly took a student from the gate of a madrasa in Sadar Upazila in a CNG-driven auto-rickshaw. Later, when the student's elder brother filed a case at Naogaon Sadar police station, the police rescued the madrasa student and handed her over to her brother.
After the investigation, the investigating officer submitted the charge sheet to the court, after accepting the testimony of 8 witnesses and after the arguments of the lawyers of both sides, the accused Suman was convicted and sentenced to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment.
