On the occasion of the 48th martyrdom anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Day of Mourning, the Maldives Bangabandhu Foundation organized a discussion and prayer meeting to pray for the soul and soul of all the members of Bangabandhu, including his family, yesterday, August 20, at 10:00 PM local time, at Mabia Magu, the capital of Maldives. The Doa Mahfil ceremony was held at Sixty Six Restaurant.

The prayer ceremony was conducted by AR Mamun, general secretary of Maldives Bangabandhu Foundation, the president of the organization presided over the prayer ceremony. Shahjalal Sikdar (Vice President Maldives Awami League) was present as the chief guest in the event. Sohail Parvez. Advisor of Maldives Awami League, expatriate businessman, was present as a special guest. At the beginning of the program, a minute's silence was observed in memory of all the martyrs on August 15. The speakers along with the chief guest of the program said that the cooperation of expatriates is absolutely necessary to bring back the murderers of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from abroad. They said, the killers did not stop after the martyrdom of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, even after his death, they tried to erase the correct history of Bangladesh. With the continuation of the development of Bangladesh under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, the government is working with the conviction of conveying the correct history of Bangladesh's independence to the new generation. Doa prayer was conducted by Madinah Jamaat Maldives branch convenor and expatriate journalist Md. Al-Amin.

Swapan Matbar, Vice President of Bangabandhu Foundation Maldives, and Organizing Secretary, Mr. Roni Ahmed, Farooq Hossain, Jubo League leader Mir Hossain, Md. Rubel Mridha, Nizam, Anwar, Liton and many other activists and ordinary expatriates were also present in the prayer and discussion meeting.
