An old man was killed by sticks from each side in a land dispute at Panchbibi in Joypurhat

An old man named Sona Mia (56) died while undergoing treatment in the hospital after being hit by the opponent's stick due to a dispute related to land in Karia village of Panchbibi upazila of Joypurhat.

The deceased is the son of Jharia Mandal of Sona Mia Paril village.

He died on Sunday (April 16) morning while undergoing treatment at Joypurhat Modern District Hospital.

Citing eyewitnesses of the incident and family sources of the deceased, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Panchbibi Police Station Zahid Hossain said that when Sona Mia went to the scene yesterday (April 15) Saturday afternoon to receive the property she had bought, she started an argument with the opponent who claimed the property and a He was seriously injured by a tree branch in the opponent's hand.

At that time, the locals admitted him to Panch Bibi Upazila Health Complex in critical condition and when his condition worsened, he was transferred to Joypurhat District Modern Hospital. When he died this morning while undergoing treatment there, the body was sent to the hospital morgue for post-mortem examination.

In this regard, the OC also said that besides the preparation of the murder case on behalf of the victim's family, police activities are going on to arrest the accused.
