Thakurgaon Narcotics Control Directorate has arrested a person named Shariful Islam Sharif (29) with 1 thousand 760 peach yaba tablets in Pirganj of Thakurgaon. He was arrested along with Yaba after searching a night coach called Rahbar Enterprise in Masaldangi area of the upazila on Saturday afternoon. The arrested is the son of Shamsul Haque alias Ledai of Raghunathpur Mohalla of Paur Town of Shariful Upazila. Inspector Farhad Akand of Thakurgaon District Narcotics Control Directorate said that the operation was conducted after receiving information that Yaba tablets were being carried by a night-coach called Rahbar Enterprise, which had left Dhaka for Pirganj. During the raid, the passenger of the coach named Shariful was searched and 1,760 tablets of Yaba tablets were found. He along with Yaba was arrested and handed over to Pirganj police station.
Jahangir Alam, OC of Pirganj police station, said that a person including Yaba was arrested and handed over to the police station by the Directorate of Narcotics Control.
A police case has been filed against him for showing arrest with drugs. He is due in court on Sunday
