Thakurgaon 5 traders fined by consumer rights

5 businessmen were fined 21 thousand taka for various complaints under the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2019 in Thakurgaon sadar Ruhia and Pirganj upazila and town market shops.

The National Directorate of Consumer Protection conducted the operation on Wednesday, January 15 at noon. Sadar Ruhia Allah's Gift Traders 3 thousand M/s Azahar Traders 2 thousand and Bismillah Electronics of T&T Road in Pirganj Municipal area, Tk 10 thousand and 18 coils of fake wire were seized for the crime of selling fake wire, Sadekul Store was taken away for Tk 4 thousand towards Shahid Salauddin Road College Bazar Saddam The store was fined Rs 2,000.

Thakurgaon District National Consumer Rights Protection Department Assistant Director Mrs. Sheikh Sadi conducted the fine raid, along with the police force of Peerganj Police Station. It should be noted that about 60% of the business owners of the said haat closed their establishments and ran away after realizing the presence of consumer rights due to fines. Locals have applauded this campaign of consumer rights. Along with that, the civil society has demanded at least three raids every month.
