Laila Shah is the first Bangladeshi woman to run for consular posts in Rome and Lachio region elections.

For the first time in Italy, Rome socialite Laila Shah has been nominated as a consular candidate in the Lachchio region elections.This polling will continue for two days on February 12 and 13. Where only Bangladeshi Italian citizens can vote.
He has the support of Lista Presidente Alessio D'Amato, the candidate of Partito DEMOS. By becoming active with Italian mainstream politics, Laila Shah will work to establish and realize the rights of future generations and expatriates.
Laila Shah, a girl from Gazipur, Bangladesh, has been living in Italy for more than three decades. He entered the Italian political scene last year by participating in the Rome City Corporation elections. In addition to this, she is one of the women's organizers and a prominent businessman.
Meanwhile, the top leader of Italy's Rome Community Noor Alam Siddiqui Bachchu said, "Bangladeshis expatriate here have been established in various developmental activities including business and social life, but we have various problems that need to be solved and to implement those solutions, at least participation in the politics of this country is very important. Therefore, all expatriates are very important. To the Bangladeshis, the Italian expatriate Bangladeshis living in the five regions of Lacchio Te Rome, Latina, Rieti, Viterbo and Frisinone who are Italian citizens can vote and those who cannot vote should work sincerely in electing Laila Shah through voting.
Laila Shah asked all the political, social, economic, regional, cultural and journalists of Rome for special cooperation and hope for votes.
