Niamatpur Thana Police has arrested 5 members of a gang of thieves, including a woman, in Niamatpur of Naogaon district. Among them there are four female and one male members. At this time, the police seized various stolen goods from the house. A case has been filed in the police station.

Today, Sunday 15th January at noon, those arrested have been sent to jail through Naogaon court. Niamatpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Asaduzzaman confirmed the matter.

The arrested are Maleka Bibi (52), wife of Shahidul Islam of Shibrampur village in Mahadevpur upazila of Naogaon, Shahidul Islam's daughter Shabana Akhtar (26), Golam Mostafa's daughter Morjina Khatun (Mursida) (42), deceased Abdul Latif's wife Monowara Begum (50), and Musharraf. Hossain's son Ashraful Islam (28).

OC Asaduzzaman said that a case was filed against the arrested on Saturday afternoon, January 14 at Niamatpur police station.

The next day, on January 15, the five arrested people were sent to jail through the Naogaon court.

Biphal Kumar Ghosh of Rabia village of Bahadurpur union of Bhuktbhogi upazila said that horse racing competition was held on January 14 in Baria open ground in the presence of Food Minister.

When we went to watch the horse racing, the house was empty and this band of thieves stole the confiscated goods from my house and fled.

Then the villagers surrounded them from all sides and seized them along with the goods and informed the police station.

On receiving the news, police arrested them along with their belongings. In this regard, I filed a written complaint at the police station as a plaintiff.
