Three motorcyclists, including a father and daughter, were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a motorcycle in Banga, Faridpur. The angry crowd set fire to the bus.

The accident took place on Sunday (January 22) at approximately 12:30 noon on the Dhaka-Khulna highway at Bhangar Mansurabad bus stand area of Faridpur.

The deceased are Saurabh Matubbar (16) son of Miraj Matubbar of Mazhardia village of Algi union of Bhanga upazila, Mainuddin Sheikh (35) son of Baki Sheikh of Dharmadi village of Pbarshwarti Nagarkanda upazila, and his daughter Inchana Akhter Tabassum (10).

Bhanga Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Taimur Alam confirmed the truth of this incident. He said, 3 riders were going from Bhanga towards Gopalganj on a motorcycle. At that time, a Star Line Transport bus was coming from Gopalganj towards Bhangar. On reaching the spot, a bus and a motorcycle collided head-on. The two riders of the motorcycle were seriously injured and died on the way to the hospital.

According to sources, there was a head-on collision with Dhaka-bound Star Line Reg.Dhaka Metro-No-B-15-8691 and Motorcycle Reg.No.Dhaka Metro-L-19-5162.

Eyewitness and Bhanga police officer in charge. Ziarul Islam told reporters that the angry mob set fire to the bus of Star Line Transport. After that, a team of fire brigade from Bhanga managed to douse the fire in the bus. Now the situation is normal. Vehicles are also running.

  Additional Superintendent of Police (broken circle) Md. Helal Uddin Bhuiyan said that two people died on the spot and one on the way to the hospital in a head-on collision between a bus and a motorcycle.

In this regard, Fire Service Faridpur District Chief Officer Shimul Ahmed said, 'We went there after hearing the incident of the death of three people and the incident of setting fire to the bus. We recovered the body and handed it over to the police and were able to bring the bus fire under control.
