The meeting of the High Commissioner with the former President of Maldives was held

Honorable High Commissioner Rear Admiral SM Abul Kalam Azad paid a courtesy call on the former President of Maldives Mr. Mamoon Abdul Gayoom yesterday at 1 pm local time. He mentioned the long and deep friendly relations between Bangladesh and Maldives. He also praised the socio-economic development of Bangladesh. He emphasized on increasing cooperation between Bangladesh and Maldives in trade, education and tourism sectors and increasing communication between the people of both countries. During the meeting, various regional and international issues and various problems of Maldivian expatriates were discussed, during which the Head of Embassy (Sram) Mr. Md. Sohail Parvez was present.
