The final of the Bangabandhu Gold Cup football tournament was held in Pirganj, Thakurgaon, in front of the slogan "Sports Peace Rally, Sheikh Hasina's Continuous Development of Bangladesh". On Monday afternoon, the final was played at the Public Club ground organized by the Bangabandhu Gold Cup Football Tournament Management Committee. Bangladesh Awami League Presidium Member and President of the Parliamentary Committee on Water Resources Ramesh Chandra Sen MP announced the opening of the game. In the game, Thakurgao Munsirhat XI defeated Joypurhat team by 3-1 and became champions. Later, President of Upazila Awami League and former MP Imdadul Haque attended the prize distribution ceremony, President of Thakurgaon District Awami League and Zilla Parishad Chairman Muhammad Sadek Quraishi, General Secretary Deepak Kumar Roy, Municipal Mayor Birmuktijoddha Ikramul Haque, OC of Pirganj Police Station Jahangir Alam, General Secretary of Upazila Awami League.
