Faridpur press club election held

The annual election of the executive committee of the traditional Faridpur Press Club was held. Habibur Rahman Habib was elected as President and Kamruzzaman Sohel as General Secretary.

Voting was held on Wednesday (December 28) from 9 am to 1 pm uninterruptedly.

In this election, Habibur Rahman Habib, editor of Bhorer Runner newspaper, was elected as president by getting 57 votes.

His rival candidate Kabirul Islam Siddiqui, editor of the local daily Nagrik Barta, got 38 votes. 3 people were elected for the post of vice-president out of which the representative of NTV Sanjib Das was elected by getting 53 votes, Manjuara Sapna of Daily Bangladesh Times got 51 votes and Mahabub Hossain Pial of Focus Bangla got 44 votes.

Kamruzzaman Sohel, the representative of Dainik Bangladesh Pratidin and NTV, was elected as general secretary by getting 32 votes. His rival candidate Moshiur Rahman Khokon, representative and former general secretary of Dainik Bhor paper, got 28 votes.

Daily Ittefaq and Jamuna TV representative Tariqul Islam Himel was elected as co-general secretary with 51 votes, Channel I's Shahadat Hossain Titu was elected as finance secretary with 49 votes.

Anwar Zahid of daily Inkilab as office editor, SM Moniruzzaman of Anand TV as publicity and publication editor, editor of local weekly Kanaipur Barta as literary and cultural editor. Zahidul Islam, Muizzur Rahman Robi of local daily Ajker Saradesh as editor of information technology and library and Shraban Hasan of local daily Bengali Saham newspaper as sports editor.

Apart from this, SM Raisul Islam Rubel of local daily Faridpur Barta Patrika, Zubair Zakir of Daily Ittefaq, Asian TV Md. Sirajul Islam, Salim Mollah, editor of local daily Bengali Time, Ruhul Amin, editor of online news portal Baisakhnews.com, Nurul Islam Anju of daily Dinkal were elected.
