Pedestrian killed by truck in Pirganj

 A pedestrian named Hafizul Islam (42) died after being crushed by the wheels of a cement-laden truck in Thakurgai's Pirganj. On Thursday afternoon, a cement-laden truck bound for Ranishkoil crushed Hafizul Islam in Sheikhpara Government Primary School area on the Pirganj-Ranishkoil road.

On receiving the information, the members of Pirganj Fire Service rescued the seriously injured from the scene and brought them to the Upazila Health Complex. He died on the way to the M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital for better treatment by the doctor on duty. Jahangir Alam, OC of Pirganj police station, said that Hafizul Islam, son of deceased Abdul Hamid of Union No. 7 Hajipur Gargaon village of Pirganj upazila, died after being crushed by the wheels of the truck. The truck was seized from the spot and brought to the police station.
