Bangladeshi women in diaspora in Italy have organized a winter pitha festival to showcase the native culture in diaspora and the eternal heritage of Bengal to the new generation.In the pitha festival organized at the local clove restaurant in the capital, Rome, expatriate Bangladeshi women took part in various types of home-made pithas and presented the traditional delicious and tempting vapa pitha, chitai pitha, dudhchitai, chit pitha, dudhkuli, khirkuli, tilkuli, patisapta, phulzhuri, dhupi pitha, Various types of pithas including Nakshi Pitha, Malai Pitha, Malpoa, Pakon Pitha, Jhal Pitha.
Diaspora women get together and interact with each other around pitha festival. It is like a wonderful event of different levels of women in native dress on foreign soil.
Leaders invited to the pitha festival said: Pitha Puli is an expression of our folk and aesthetic culture. Despite our thousands of problems, the enthusiasm of these Pitha Parbans has not yet faded among the diaspora Bengalis. May this joy and tradition of Pitha Parban continue for generations in the homes of expatriate Bengalis.
