Maldives Awami League organized a discussion and doa mahfil on the occasion of Sheikh Russell's birthday

The 59th birthday of Shaheed Sheikh Russell, the youngest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, (Tuesday, October 18). Sheikh Russell was born on this day in 1964 in Bangabandhu Bhavan, a historical monument in Dhanmondi. On the occasion of the day, like every year, the Maldives Awami League organized a discussion and prayer ceremony.

 Yesterday at nine o'clock local time, the event was held at Mabia Magu Hotel 66, Mall of the capital, under the direction of party organizing secretary Mizanur Rahman Anis, the honorable president of Maldives Awami League, distinguished businessman and social worker Alhaj Dulal Madbar, was present as the chief guest. General Secretary of the party and Chairman of View Construction Pvt., Ltd. Md. Dulal Hossain, senior leaders of Maldives Awami League spoke in the discussion.

 They said that on August 15, 1975, along with Bangabandhu, he was also brutally killed by cannibals. At that time Sheikh Russell was a fourth class student of the University Laboratory School.

 They urged the government to ensure that no child is subjected to atrocities like Sheikh Russell, saying that if Sheikh Russell had lived, he would have led the nation today. He worked to change the fate of the people of the country. But the misfortune of the Bengali nation was that on the night of August 15, 1975, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was brutally martyred in the hands of anti-independence assassins. The killers did not spare even ten-year-old Russell that day. Little Russell begged the killers that day, saying, 'I will go to mother', I will go to Asu Apa, but the killers of Kulanga brutally killed him.

 They said that his expectation is that all the children of the country come forward to build the golden Bangladesh of Bangabandhu's dream, this is our call. And individuals from various social organizations were present.

The ceremony started with the recitation of the Holy Quran, the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Sheikh Russell, and all the martyred members of his family, prayed for forgiveness, special prayers and prayers for the country, the nation, and the government. Our Maldivian representative, Md Al Amin, finally announced the end of the event with dinner
