Auspicious inauguration of Expatriate Journalist Unity in Maldives

I will talk about the joys and sorrows of expatriates.

With this slogan, the newly elected committee of Maldives-Bangladesh Unity, an organization of expatriate Bangladeshi professional journalists living in the Maldives, has been sworn in. The oath was taken at the party hall of Tandoori Flames restaurant in the capital on Friday (October 7) evening.

In the inaugural meeting, Md Emran Hossain Talukdar, Maldives correspondent of Dhaka Post, was proposed as President, Daily Naya Digant Maldives correspondent Md Omar Farooq Anik as General Secretary and Mahmudul Hasan Kalam, Maldives correspondent of Jago News, was proposed as Senior Vice-President. If the opinion of all the members present in the general meeting is sought, then the Maldives representative Shahjalal Shikder is the first to give his support. Later everyone expressed solidarity.

Under the chairmanship of newly elected Maldives-Bangladesh Expatriate Journalist Unit President Md Emran Hossain Talukder and General Secretary Md Omar Farooq (Anik), the newly elected General Secretary of the Unit presented a report at the meeting. Later the report and constitution were passed by voice vote. and made several amendments to the constitution with the consent of all the members of Unity. Senior Vice-President of Unity Md. Mahmudul Hasan Kalam recited the oath to the newly elected committee officers. Other members of the newly formed unit were also present at this time.

Later newly elected President Md Emran Hossain Talukder and General Secretary Md Omar Farooq (Anik) introduced the working committee to the general members. And congratulating all the other members of the unity, this unity is a worthy and effective unity. Every member should play a leading role in taking this unity further.

The inaugural meeting was attended by all but one of the nine-member new functional unit. Other members of Unity are: Adviser bdnews twenty four representative Roni Nandi, Joint General Secretary Jayzaykal representative Shahjalal Shikder, Organizational Editor Voyage Asia representative Abdullah Quader, Publicity and Publication Editor Bangladesh Samachar and Daily Morning Voice Md Al Amin, One News BD representative Md. Rabiul Alam, representative of Amar Sangbad Md. Mohinur Rahman Tokon and others.

At the end of the meeting, the newly elected president and general secretary called upon the expatriate journalists to play a positive role in increasing the honor of the country in the diaspora, playing a leading role in providing objective news related to the interests of the diaspora, raising awareness and in the development and progress of the country. Expatriate journalists are required to provide objective news. Because by playing the positive role of journalists, it is possible to bring benefits to the welfare of the country and the nation, including solving all the problems of expatriates.
