UPDF leader killed in Khagrachari firing, arms and bullets recovered, cars set on fire at various places

Angthoi Marma alias Agun (52), an organizer of the Guimara branch of UPDF, a hill regional armed terrorist organization led by Prasit Vikas Khisa, was reportedly killed by rival armed terrorists in Guimara in Khagrachari hill district.

Today (September 2nd) this incident took place in Dewan Para area of ​​the upazila around 10 o'clock in the morning on Friday.

The deceased was the son of Kanghlau Marma of Budang Para (Joint Farm) of Angthoi Marma Upazila and a resident of that area.

He had long been in charge of the organization's Guimaras unit and was known locally as the Terror of Guimaras. 1 Italian made pistol and 5 rounds were recovered from him.

A UPDF source confirmed the death and said UPDF organizer Angthoi Marma was on his way to organizational work in the morning. At that time, masked terrorists, who were already stationed at a place called Dewan Para, attacked him armed. He died on the spot.

In protest against this incident, UPDF workers vandalized cars and set fire to various places including Bailyachari and Ramgarh in Guimaras.

After the incident, police and security forces reached the spot and brought the situation under control.

Meanwhile, UPDF supporters set fire to two trucks in Ramgarh and Guimara Baylyachari areas over this incident. Army and police continued patrolling to control the situation.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Guimara Police Station Abdur Rashid confirmed the truth of the incident and said that they recovered the body from the spot and sent it to Khagrachari Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
