The meeting of the High Commissioner with the Minister of Finance of Maldives was held

 Honorable High Commissioner Rear Admiral SM Abul Kalam Azad paid a courtesy call on Honorable Minister of Finance of Maldives Mr. Ibrahim Ameer at the Ministry.

The meeting was held yesterday (September 1) at the minister's office room, during the meeting Bangladeshi expatriates in Maldives were requested to take necessary measures to pay dollars at the official exchange rate or send remittances through Rufiyaa. Expatriate Bangladeshis are also called upon to cooperate in issuing correct salary receipts, sending remittances to undocumented workers through legal channels. Besides, in view of the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries, the High Commissioner requested the Maldivian government to open work visas for Bangladeshis.

Honorable State Minister of Finance Ministry, Deputy Minister and First Secretary of Mission and Head of Embassy Mr. Md. Sohail Parvez were present on this occasion.

It is to be noted that, since joining the mission, the expatriate-friendly High Commissioner, Mr. SM Abul Kalam Azad, has met with the secretaries, deputy secretaries and ministers of the relevant ministries to resolve the various problems of the expatriates, and requested them to solve the problems of the expatriates. Currently, that effort is still continuing.
