The Triennial Conference of the Italian Awami League was held in Rome on Sunday with great enthusiasm. All Europe Awami League president M Nazrul Islam was present as the chief guest and general secretary of All Europe Awami League Mojibur Rahman was the main speaker.

Awami League, Jubo League, Volunteer League, Mahila Awami League and several thousand leaders and activists of various affiliated organizations participated in the conference from more than 25 cities in Italy. Also, president and general secretary of Awami League of 15 European countries attended this conference in Italy as a guest.

From Saturday, leaders and activists from different cities started coming to Rome for the conference. The entire city of Rome was buzzing with the march of leaders and activists throughout the day on Sunday.

The conference began shortly after noon with the playing of the national anthem in the auditorium of a cinema hall in Rome's Piaccia Mirti. At that time, the auditorium was filled to the brim with the presence of thousands of leaders and activists. Some from outside Rome also complained that many activists did not get seats.

In the speech of the chief guest, M. Nazrul Islam said that Italy Awami League will be more united and stronger through this conference. Addressing the delegates, you will elect qualified leadership through your valuable votes so that the Italian Awami League can make an important contribution to bring Sheikh Hasina's government back to power in the next national elections.

General Secretary Hasan Iqbal presided over the conference, president of the organization Haji Idris Faraji.

In the speech of the president, Idris Faraji expressed his gratitude to everyone for supporting the organization for nine years in an emotional voice. Immediately after the speech, he announced the dissolution of the committee of the Italian Awami League.

In the second part of the program, the leaders of the Conference Preparation Committee and the Election Commission spoke.

Convener of the Conference Preparation Committee, Hadiul Islam expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to everyone for participating in the conference and making the event a success. At the same time, he politely apologized for any mistake in organizing the event.

In the last part of the program, Chief Election Commissioner Habib Chowdhury announced the name of the new leadership of the Italian Awami League based on the opinion of the delegates. He said that only two people have taken the nomination form for the post of president and general secretary. Haji Idris Faraji and Hasan Iqbal were re-elected as the president of Italy Awami League for the next 3 years unopposed.

Later, the Chief Election Commissioner handed over all the election results to All Europe Awami League President M Nazrul Islam.

At this time, everyone present burst into joy and congratulated the newly elected President and General Secretary through loud applause.

At the same time All Europe Awami League President M Nazrul Islam and General Secretary Mujibur Rahman congratulated the newly elected President and General Secretary. Later, one by one, leaders and workers from various levels including Italian Jubo League, Mahila League, Milan Awami League, Venice Awami League, Ancona Awami League, Napoli Awami League, Barisal residents greeted the new president and general secretary with flowers.
