All European Bangla Press Club has demanded amendment of passport and NID card of expatriates

 Minhaj Hossain Special Representative:

All European Bangla Press Club, the largest organization of journalists in Europe, has demanded the amendment of passports and NID cards of expatriates. Expatriate life is interesting but there is something else behind it. Some may expatriate for part of their working life, while others may spend their entire lives. This life is happy for some, sad for some. People from the country go abroad to keep the people of the country well and happy. The role of expatriates is not less in keeping the country's economy running and increasing foreign exchange reserves. The Security and Emigration Department of the Security Services Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh has issued a circular for issuance of passports according to the national identity card information of passport applicants in the country on December 9, 2021. Passport can be issued according to the information provided (name, parent's name, age etc.). But expats from different countries including Europe have to face a lot of trouble in getting their passports and NID cards corrected. The letter issued by the government does not clearly and specifically explain how the expatriates will correct this NID and passport. Because of this, expatriates have to face trouble at various times in the embassy. Thousands of expatriates in Europe, who have been suffering from passport complications for a long time, raised their complaints with Ayabapc. Many expatriates were complaining that they want to correct their passport and NID card as per their birth registration but they are not being given that opportunity by the embassy. When contacting the embassy in this regard, the embassy always says clearly that many things are beyond their competence. For which they have to come from the government of the country, circulars have to be issued, then it will be possible to correct them. They have already informed Dhaka about correcting the expatriates' passports, but they have nothing to do until there is an order from there. Meanwhile, many expatriates are not able to correct their passports due to not being able to get NID card. Due to the complexity of the passport, many fear that it will be invalid, many are unable to send money to the country. Forced to send money through hundi. In this, money is going to the country illegally and the government is losing its revenue.

Zahid Momin Chowdhury, president of the organization, presided over this virtual meeting held at 10 pm on August 10. General Secretary Bakul Khan's presentation ceremony was attended by members of the advisory council of the organization Saiful Islam, Nazrul Islam, Manowar Clark, Kabir Hussain, Syed Ashraful Haque, Farooq Khan, Khan Liton.
