Introductory meeting of Bangladesh Expatriate Welfare Council held in Italy: 30th December demand to observe NRBD abroad

Bangladesh Expatriate Welfare Council is working globally for the rights of Bangladeshi expatriates. This organization is made up of respectable individuals and is completely non-political for the welfare of Bangladeshi diaspora.
Bangladesh Expatriate Welfare Council, which consists of Bangladeshi expatriates in Italy, organized an introductory meeting and Eid reunion in Italy. Md. Shamim Ahsan, Honorable Ambassador of Bangladesh Embassy was present as the chief guest at the event organized at a restaurant in the capital Rome on Monday, July 18. Under the chairmanship of the president of the organization, Oli Uddin Shamim, and under the direction of Sushmita Sultana, leader of the music, the religious affairs secretary of the Parishad, Md. Billal Hossain, recited the Quran in the beginning. Later, the general secretary of the organization Manowar Clark gave a welcome speech. First Secretary of Bangladesh Embassy Asif Anam Siddiqui, Senior Vice Chairman of Bangladesh Center London Muhibur Rahman Muhib, President of Bangladesh America Association Moinul Haque Chowdhury Helal, Advisor of Bangladesh Pravasi Kalyan Parishad Bir Muktijodha Lutfur Rahman, Former President of Bangladesh Association Italy Noore Alam also spoke as guests. Siddiqui Bachchu, Bangladesh Association Napoli President Zainal Abedin Hazari, Mahila Samaj Kalyan Samiti Italy President Laila Shah, Mahila Sanstha Italy General Secretary Syeda Masuda Akhtar Also European Expatriate Bangladeshi Association (EPBA), Pabna Zilla Samiti, Manikganj Zila Samiti, Sentselle Oikya Parishad, Rome Top leaders of regional, social, political, business, cultural and journalistic organizations in Rome including BD Sporting Club, Jalalabad Expatriate Welfare Council Italy.
The speakers said: Through the Bangladesh Expatriate Welfare Council, various problems related to the land deposit of the expatriates in Bangladesh are being solved and besides, the expatriates are facing various difficulties at the airport including customs and immigration at the airport. Speakers also demanded to arrange harassment-free travel at every airport for the sake of expatriates.
Ambassador Md. Shamim Ahsan, the chief guest of the event, said that the Bangladesh Expatriate Welfare Council will work equally for all expatriates above regional political differences and the Bangladesh Embassy in Italy will always support the council for the welfare of expatriates.
The General Secretary of the Parishad Manowar Clark in his speech highlighted the activities of the Parishad and the matters to be done and said that already we on behalf of the Bangladesh Expatriate Welfare Council have had a courtesy meeting with the Chief Sponsor of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Dr. AK Abdul Momen, the expectations of the expatriates and various problems have been raised. The minister assured that Bangladesh government is always committed to provide all kinds of facilities for expatriates. The problem of expatriates will be resolved by setting up a special tribunal for expatriates as soon as possible.
The president of the organization, Oli Uddin Shamim, in his closing speech, demanded the Bangladesh Embassy and the Bangladesh government to observe NRBD together with the outside world on December 30th every year and announced the inauguration ceremony of the newly formed executive committee on September 4th in a colorful arrangement.
