A speech-impaired person died after being bitten by a snake in Naogaon

A speech-impaired man named Zakaria (65) died after being bitten by a poisonous snake while pulling a bag of grass in Niamatpur upazila of Naogaon district. The incident took place in Dampura (Rajvanshipara) village of Rasulpur Union of Upazila on Friday morning.
Deceased Zakaria is the son of deceased Ainal Haque of Dampura village in Niamatpur.
The deceased's nephew, Dola, said that in the morning, his uncle took the cows out of the cowshed and brought them to the yard as usual. Then when he was pulling a grass sack placed near the door to feed the cow, the poisonous snake under the sack bit his right toe. After being bitten by the snake, he immediately came inside the house and told the family members about the bite and showed the wound.
He died before first aid was given. After that the local rural doctor confirmed his death but his relatives took him to Nachol Upazila Health Center of Chapainawabganj district. The doctor on duty there declared him dead.
Abdul Hai, UP member of the concerned ward, confirmed the death of the speech-impaired person due to the bite of a poisonous snake.
