The Naogaon-Natore regional highway was given before the inauguration

Nuruzzaman Liton, District Representative Naogaon

Construction of the Naogaon-Natore Regional Highway is nearing completion. The road starts from Dhaka Road in Naogaon and passes through the railway lines of Raninagar and Atrai Upazilas on the bypass road of Natore city.

If the road is opened, the distance from Naogaon to Dhaka will be reduced to about 100 kilometers. Besides, this highway will be easily accessible to Dhaka-bound vehicles and passengers from different districts of North Bengal especially from Dinajpur, Panchagarh, Thakurgaon, Joypurhat and Naogaon.

Construction of 5 bridges and 10 culverts on the entire road has already been completed. Work on the surface of the existing road is also nearing completion

In some places only carpeting work is left. The construction cost of this highway has been estimated at Tk 129 crore. The whole project is divided into 4 phases and 4 contractors are working. The Naogaon Roads and Highways Department is supervising the construction work of the Naogaon-Natore regional road.

But before the inauguration, about 200 feet of the highway was buried in the Shahagola area of Atrai upazila.

The road will suddenly open on Saturday (June 25) afternoon. As a result, a big crack has been created in the middle of the highway.

Meanwhile, seeing the condition of the road, various questions have arisen among the locals. They claim the road is not working well. As a result, the road was given before the inauguration. Therefore, the locals also demanded a fine by bringing the contractor company under accountability. Besides, the locals have demanded the government to monitor the road so that the work is done well.

Sajedur Rahman Sajid, executive engineer of Naogaon Roads and Highways Department, said, "After receiving the news that the road would be paved, I and my senior officer inspected the road yesterday afternoon." Initially, it is not understood that the road will be given.

However, work has already started to rebuild that part of the road.
