 Significance and Virtue of the First Decade of the Month of Jilhaj

The son of God, may God be pleased with him, said: وَلاَ الْجِحَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ؟! The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: There is no jihad in the way of God, except for a man who goes out of his way and does not return from it. Narrated by Al-Bukhari, Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, Al-Tirmidhi and Al-Lafz.

Translation

Ibn 'Abbas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: The good deeds of any other day are not dearer to Allaah than the good deeds of the ten days of the month of Zilhajj. The Companions asked, "Isn't jihad in the way of Allah?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Not even jihad, but the one who went out with his life and property and did not return with anything." (That is, he has become a martyr) His words are different. (Sahih Bukhari, H /: 928.)

Takhrijul Hadith:

The hadith has been narrated by many muhaddiths in their own texts with different words. Imam Ahmad in Musnad (6505), Imam Bukhari in Sahih (928), Ibn Hibban in Sahih (3653), Imam Abu Dawud in Sunan (2438), Imam Tahabi in Sharhu Mushkilul Ashar (9). The hadith has been narrated by Muhaddis Haychami in 'Majmauz Jawaid' (4/20), Tabarani in 'Mu'jam' (10/247), Imam Tirmidhi in 'Sunan' (656), Imam Ibn Majah in 'Sunan' (1828). .

Introduction to the narrator:

The name of Ibn Abbas (Razih) is Abdullah, the surname is Abul Abbas. His father's name was Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib and his mother's name was Lubaba bint Haris. He was a cousin of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and a famous Companion. He was born three years before the Hijrah. He was one of the greatest narrators of Hadith. He has narrated 180 hadiths. During the reign of Ali (ra) he was appointed governor of the year. He served as commander-in-chief of Jange Jamal and Jange Siffin. He died in Taif at the age of 81 in 6 AH. He has a special reputation in the field of Qur'anic commentary.

Brief explanation:

Allah, the Lord of the worlds, in His infinite grace has ordained some seasons for His servants. So that they get a chance to do a lot more good deeds. These seasons come and go again and again in people's lives every year. One of the biggest and most important of these seasons is the first decade of the month of Zilhajj. This decade is very important for a servant who is interested in good times. The virtues and dignity of this decade are much higher in Quran and Hadith. Here are a couple of the virtues of this month:

1- Allah has sworn by these ten nights:

Sufficient for the importance and virtue of the first ten dates of Zilhajj is that Allah has sworn by these nights. Allaah has increased their status by such an oath. Because Allah swears by something only when his dignity is higher with Allah. Ershad has said: "Oath of Fajr, more oath of ten nights". (Al-Fajr: 1, 2)

According to most of the commentators, ten nights here means the first ten nights of the month of Jilhaj.

2- Certain days for the remembrance of Allah

The Qur'an commands to remember Allah more and more during these ten days: "So that they may reach the place of their welfare and remember the name of Allah on certain days when sacrificing the four-limbed animals given by Him." (Hajj, 26)

Most commentators say that this verse refers to the first decade of the month of Jilhaj as "on certain days."

3 - The best days in the world

Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The best days in the world are the first ten days of the month of Zilhajj. (Bazar, Ibn Hibban, Sahih Al Jame: 1133)

4. The deeds of these days are more dear to Allah

Ibn 'Abbas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: The good deeds of any other day are not dearer to Allaah than the good deeds of the ten days of the month of Zilhajj. The Companions asked, "Isn't jihad in the way of Allah?" 5. These are the days of Tasbeeh, Tahlil and Tahmi

Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "The good deeds done in these ten days are more honorable and more dear to Allah than any other good deeds done at other times." Recite (Allahu Akbar) and Tahmid (Alhamdulillah) ". [Ahmad: 2/75, 131].

. Special virtues of the day of Arafat

The virtues of this day are many. On this day, Allah frees countless servants from Hell and forgives all the sins of the pilgrims. Those who do not go for Hajj, if they fast, forgive the sins of the previous two years. (Muslim / 2614)

. Virtues of the day of sacrifice

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "The greatest day in the sight of Allaah is the Day of Sacrifice, then the Day of Residence." [Abu Dawood: 185]

The day of sacrifice is the tenth day, and the day of position is the eleventh, thirteenth of the month of Tashriq, that is, the month of Zilhaj. It is further narrated in Abu Dawud Sharif that the day of Qurbani is the day of the great Hajj. (Abu Dawud: 420)
