Four smugglers from Joypurhat were arrested with drugs in Dhamairhat

Four drug smugglers from Joypurhat have been arrested and sent to jail through a mobile court along with a large quantity of drugs and drug processing equipment during a BGB operation at Patnitala border in Naogaon.
Lt. Col. Md. Hamid Uddin, Commander, Patnitala Battalion (14 BGB), Naogaon, said this in a press release.
According to sources, the arrested smugglers smuggled drugs from India to Bangladesh through processing. On the basis of such information, a regular patrol team led by Naib Subedar Tapan Kumar of Patnitala Battalion (14 BGB) under Patnitala Battalion on Monday afternoon, approx. They raided the house and arrested four drug smugglers along with drugs and drug processing equipment.
The others arrested are Shahadul Islam (45), son of late Haji Kamej Uddin, a member of Dogachhi Union Parishad of Joypurhat Sadar Upazila, Sajjad Hossain Sabuj (48), son of late Badiuzzaman Mandal of Penchulia (Board House) village of Joypurhat Upazila Poultry farm owner Anisur Rahman (41) and farmer Mokhlesur Rahman's son farmer Golam Rabbani (48).
He further said that a mobile court headed by Dhamairhat Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate Ganpati Roy of the detainees had sentenced the member of ward no. Later in the evening, the accused were sent to Naogaon Central Jail.
