A fraudster has been arrested for embezzling money in the name of giving a job in Naogaon

Members of RAB-5 Joypurhat camp have arrested a fraudster on charges of embezzling money in the name of giving a job at Patnitala in Naogaon district.

He was arrested on Tuesday, June 21, at around 2 am from Punia Mor area of ​​Ward 5 of Nazipur Municipality in the upazila.

This information is known through the press release sent from RAB-5 on Wednesday (June 22).

The arrested fraudster's name is Jewel Chowdhury (32). He is the son of Abdul Karim Chowdhury of Kobdaspara village in Sirajganj district.

According to the press release, the operational team of Joypurhat RAB-5 camp led by company captain Masud Rana and deputy captain Aminul Islam conducted the operation at the corner of Punia in Nazipur municipality of the upazila. Jewel Chowdhury was arrested along with Tk 43,000 in cash, a fake appointment letter and an entrance exam.

The press release further said that Jewel Chowdhury has been embezzling lakhs of rupees by cheating the common people by showing the temptation to give a job for a long time. The swindler Jewel took Rs 360,000 to give a job to Victim Zainul's son and in return gave Victim and his son one fake admission card and two fake CID office assistant posts. Jewel demanded another 1 lakh rupees in return.

If his speech seemed inconsistent and suspicious, the victim refused to pay for the appointment letter and secretly informed the RAB patrol team. RAB arrested the fraudster and rescued the victim.

In this regard, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Patnitala Police Station Shamsul Alam Shah said that RAB-5 arrested the fraudster Jewel Chowdhury at night. RAB has filed a fraud case against him under section 420. He was handed over to the court at noon.
