A case has been registered in Naogaon for killing his wife and committing suicide

It has been alleged that Palash Chandra Barman (40) of Buzruk Mamudpur Takai village in Patatnitla of Naogaon district brutally killed his wife Purnima Rani (35) due to extramarital affairs and tried to run the whole affair as suicide.

Tanushree Devi, mother of slain Purnima Rani, filed the case in Naogaon Senior Judicial Magistrate Amli-4 on Monday (June 26).

According to the details of the case, Purnima Rani, daughter of late Biren Chandra of Jaipur village in Niamatpur upazila, got married to Palash Barman of Tapai village in Patnitala upazila in 1996.

They have already given birth to two daughters. In 2016, Palash started an extramarital affair with Basanti Rani, 30, wife of neighbor Amiya Chandra. When this was stopped, Palash started torturing his wife Purnima physically and mentally.

When Purnima Rani filed a case in the Naogaon Women and Children's Court in this regard, all the cases were withdrawn amicably by giving Palash Barman's wife Purnima Rani 8 bighas of cultivable land worth Tk 20 lakh and 5 percent of the land on the spot. A few days later, Palash-Basanti became a stranger again.

 

At one stage, Basanti Rani divorced her husband Amiya Chandra and married Palash Barman and started living in the same house. Meanwhile, Palash-Basanti argues that Purnima has to get up to take back the written property.

The level of torture on the full moon continues to increase. At one stage, on 18th April, 22nd at 11:30 pm, when Palash and Basanti beat up Purnima with their Sangpang, Purnima's mouth started bleeding. When she was taken to the local hospital, the doctor on duty declared Purnima dead.

 

SI Ashraful picked up the deceased's daughter Priyanka Rani (19) from the spot and took her to the police station. The petition states that a white paper was signed by Priyanka there. Police later recorded a UD case without recording a murder case.

According to Palash's neighbors, Palash Varman is now boasting that if he had money, the police, doctors and journalists would not be able to do anything. Nothing will happen to me in this case. Tanushree Devi, the mother of Purnima, who was killed due to her boasting, is disappointed. He sought the intervention of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to demand a fair trial for her daughter's murder.
